"My first impression was: "I want to destroy something with this".actually, I still get that every time I hold my BD At first I thought it was a hard plastic, but then I thought anodized aluminum or titanium, until a nearby magnet became attracted to it and I realized it was steel - sturdy and gorgeous nearly iridescent.Ahhh, but you can't judge a Strider that way.I made a post about this very topic on the Strider forum last week.let me repaste it here It reminds me of a scalpel that a doctor might carry when they’re off shift, In case of an emergency, and because they appreciate the fine craftsmanship and artistic flare as far as the colors used. The blade, by the way, came razor sharp and the tip needle sharp. Hell, just holding it makes me feel good! I bought the teal (green/blue) w/ satin blade, but I truly would like to get every color combo, and will most certainly be ordering at least one or two more - the grey/gold is next, with either blade. But simply put, an exquisite gem of a knife, truly! The action is as powerful as my other OTFs that are twice it’s size, but it’s also silky smooth. I’m just scared to flip wit that tip lol. But overall even with the tap and play out of the box I’m still happy with it but had I not been able to fix the issues with my ingenuity I’m sure other people would be dissatisfied but with my fix it feels like a top tier flipper now. I just wish the tolerances on these titanium versions was as good as the g-10 variants. Would prefer with logos tho and Unfortunately it came with tap and play and the replacement bearings were undersized so I replaced the bronze phosphorus washers with some super thin 1/2mm ceramic bearings from a baliplus bm87 that I replaced the bearings with steel bearings so I could torch it to loosen locktite for cleaning etc and now the hom has zero play or tap, kinda defeats the purpose of having bushings but whatever, I may get a friend to make a race for the bearings in the blade so I can completely replace the bushings with proper sized pivots in the future instead of the franken-hom I’ve made of this.
